My Blue Hawaii

Forever 21 Boho Dress Louis Vuitton Neverfull Kendra Scott

I just couldn't help myself with the title of this post. It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this picture. After living in Hawaii for over 7 years and graduating with my Bachelors from the University of Hawaii, I just had to use Hawaii somewhere in this post. This entire outfit is, well, so me. Exactly what I used to wear daily in Hawaii. "How I long for the day to see your beautiful shores again. To dance on your beaches with the sand between my toes."

If you look, my knee has a cut on it. Mishaps from the 6.5 miles of hiking we did this past weekend. It just happens sometimes.

My darling daughter was picking flowers out of the flowerpot right next to me. She picked the yellow one ("because it went with my outfit") and a purple one that went with her outfit.

Forever 21 Blue Embroidered Boho Dress

Louis Vuitton Popincourt Haute

This style is hard to find but I linked a similar vintage Louis Vuitton

Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace

Crown Vintage Nude Gladiator Sandal similar here and here

Forever 21 Sunnies

Just an FYI on the dress, it needs to be worn with a light slip underneath or camisole dress or nude undies. It is fairly thin material and is unlined. Other than that will make a super swimsuit cover-up!

Wow, what a crazy few weeks its been since I last posted. We've been house hunting nearly every day, plus the kids are ending the school year and we've been trying to find summer camps. Mav and I have been spending much quality time together now that we live near the parentals. They've got 8 years of catching up to do with the grandkids. This allows 'ol Mav and I to catch up on our couple time.

We spent last weekend in the Buffalo River area of Arkansas, hiking and just hanging out. We were somewhat disappointed that we didn't get to float the Buffalo as it flooded along with every other river in Arkansas but as they say when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. We hiked to some of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen and I've seen every waterfall on the Hawaiian islands! Did I just inject Hawaii again? Yes, I did.

Anyhow, we've got another busy day of house hunting tomorrow but I made Mav take some pictures of me yesterday so I could show you this adorable embroidered shift dress from Forever 21. I'm going to be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with Forever 21. Here's why. I've shopped at Forever 21 since they first opened their doors. Lets just say, that's a long time to keep my attention. That's almost as long as I've shopped at the Limited (since I was 15, yes, 15 years old.) I've been in some stores that look like a tornado just came through. If I see a store like that I turn my butt right around and leave. The Forever 21 near me must be having its up's and downs because the first few times I visited (we just moved here), I walked out before I even began. I don't have 5 hours to pick through every single item in the store to find one that I like. Nope, I'll take my money elsewhere. But this past week, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was mostly organized in that all the new stuff was by the front door and this is where I scored the two sundresses (another post coming soon with a nautical look to include some sails and water!)

I'm a sucker for a shift dress but add the embroidery and I couldn't leave it behind. Plus it was $24. Can't beat that for a dress that will last all summer long!

My favorite singer puts how I feel into the most beautiful words!

"There is no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing, but I can try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a, shoebox of photographs
With sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer,
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and
Sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together"
